I think that if more work by Salinger were to be published the older generations would care more than younger people. The big controversy that revolved around The Catcher in the Rye did not affect our generation. If Salinger chose to not reveal certain items to the public, I think his wishes should be respected even to this day. The reason why people probably are so curious about Salinger's life is because of the fact that he was so secretive. If he had been more open I think people wouldn't care as much.
